September 9th, 2008 - what a day!

12:44pm - Susan is running errands with her sister at Target (she even has a receipt with the time stamp to prove it.) Of course she does.

1pm - Heather drops Susan off at her house. Susan has to go to the potty real bad, so Heather comes in for a minute. Susan thinks her water may have just broken as she went to the potty, but being the stubborn one that she is, she quasi-ignores it. Susan proceeds to go to the potty 6 more times w/in 15 minutes; something isn't right. She also starts to experience some cramping/pinching. Heather starts to panic a bit and tells Susan that she is 39 1/2 weeks pregnant and that more than likely...SHE IS IN LABOR!!

1:04pm - Heather calls Eric to inform him of Susan's situation. Eric initially tells Heather to take Susan to the doctor for her 2pm appt and that he will meet them at the doc. Eric calls back 5 mins later and the situation has gotten worse. Heather takes Susan to the hospital.

1:05pm - 1:20pm - Susan takes her time packing her belongings as she's still in denial that this baby is coming. She brings 50 lbs of clothes, 3 bags of 'stuff', 4 pairs of sandals, her nail polish, and a full bag of toiletry 'tools', including a straightening iron. Huh?

1:40pm - Heather runs the first red light of her life.

1:52pm - Heather and Susan shows up at the ER; Eric greets them along with the 85 year old volunteers. Sue - do you need a wheelchair?

2:00pm - We arrive at L&D after a minor detour. The nurses, being as calm as can be, escort us to room 1.

2:03pm - Susan is 'officially' admitted to the hospital. The wristband is on rather loosely as the hospital worker seemed a bit scared to get near Susan. I think her fangs were showing at this point, her face was tomato red, and of course...she was sweating profusely.

2:05pm - The nurse says, "she's crowning"! Eric looks down and nearly faints. Holy sh*t...this baby isn't wasting any time!

2:06pm - The stubborn bambino is finally born! Well doc, tell us if it's a boy or a girl. After what seemed like 2 hours (probably more like 90 seconds) they inform us that we now have a healthy baby boy...and we name him Brayden Andrew Murphy!

Special thanks to Dr. Heather Kircher for her calm demeanor, and excellent driving and negotiation skills for making this a hospital-delivered baby as opposed to a Route 28-delivered baby!

Look out world, here I come!

Hello World, my name is Brayden Andrew Murphy. I was born on September 9th, 2008 @ 2:06pm. I weighed in at 7 lbs, 9 oz and was 21.5 inches long.

To the left is a pic of me in the middle of my big brother Kyle and my big sister Lauren. I think they are looking at each other wondering who the heck I am to interfere with their life. Little do they know, I am here to stay!

Hello World!

Well, here we are in 2008 and I'm just now getting into the world of blogging. A little behind the times, but better late than never.

This blog is dedicated to our children and will be updated periodically with new happenings in their lives.

Thanks for reading!
